This week I revisited the Yang 40 form, which is one of my favorite one. It took me a long time to feel confident with this form but now I just love it. Here is some info about this form.
The Tai Chi Yang 40 Form is an intermediate-to-advanced level routine developed by the Chinese National Wushu Association. It builds on the foundational Yang-Style Tai Chi 24 Form and incorporates more challenging techniques, increasing the overall difficulty and exercise intensity.
This form is characterized by its gentle, graceful, and expansive movements, which are typical of the Yang style. The 40 Form is more compact than the traditional Yang 108 Forms but still includes all the essential features, techniques, and internal energy work of the style.

At least once a week I practice my Silk Reeling to improve/refresh the foundation of my Tai Chi. I love the round movements and the practice puts my right into the zone. I love it.
Tai Chi silk reeling, also known as Chan Si Gong (纏絲功), is a fundamental practice in Chen-style Tai Chi. It involves continuous, spiral movements that coordinate the entire body, promoting relaxation, balance, and internal energy flow.
The term “silk reeling” comes from the process of drawing silk from a cocoon, which requires a constant, gentle tension. Similarly, silk reeling exercises involve smooth, circular motions that help develop whole-body coordination and internal power. These exercises are essential for understanding the deeper aspects of Tai Chi, such as the connection between the mind and body, an Read More

Tai Chi 24 -> Right Heel Kick (Breathing)
The posture contains one breath cycle. When you raise up your crossed hands and lift your right knee you slowly inhale. When you extend your right heel for the kick and separate your arms you slowly exhale.

I personally revisit the basics of all the forms I know/practice on a regular basis to improve and remind myself.

This is my all time favourite one which has become one of my principles in life. Any small action that seems insignificant at a time can have a major impact on your overall path and your surroundings. It also shows that we are part of a whole and that we can’t separate ourselves. Basically I try to understand any thought and action and their impacts to the whole before I react to them. This does require time and we only have a limited amount of it each day but I changed my priorities to give myself more time to review my thoughts and actions before I respond to them.

“Everything is one energy” - Alan Watts
It’s all one energy,” this is the really the point. I mean, if you understand that this whole universe is one energy and you’re it, you don’t really have any much in the way of further problems. I mean, you have some few practical problems, like how to make a good table or a beautiful dress or whatever it is that you’re after. But you don’t have any more metaphysical problems when you see that.
—----------------------
This is one of my favourite quotes from Alan Watts. This truly opened my horizon. Once you realize that you are part of everything then there is nothing to fear anymore. We are like waves in the ocean or leafs on a tree. We are unique like every wave but still part of the ocean. We are born from it and part of it and at the end we w Read More

Butterfly Dream
Butterfly Dream
"Once upon a time, I, Zhuangzi, dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was Zhuangzi. Soon I awakened, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man. Between a man and a butterfly there is necessarily a distinction. The transition is called the transformation of material things."

The ‘Butterfly Dream’ is a famous philosophical parable from around 300 BC. It’s found in the second chapter of The Book of Chuang Tzu, a collection of stories, anecdotes, and parables centered around, and likely written by, the p Read More
